It feels like Covid19 has taken us and our businesses hostage. Whilst we are all locked up at home your social media strategy should show customers and potential customers your business is ready to do business. Your online presence is your businesses proof of life.
When I started to write this piece, I thought of kidnapping "proof life" - the evidence that is used to prove that the kidnapped victim is still alive - fingers in boxes (like in the movies) and videos pleading for rescue. Very dark and Covid19 thoughts. I thought off all those who were suffering physically and those who have lost businesses and income.
As I progressed I realised that whilst this is still an accurate description, "Proof of Life" can also be positive. It is proof of green shoots, growth, the survival spirit and most importantly hope.
The 3 key aspects for an online proof of life strategy:
1. When you post content it shows that you are active and you are open for business.
2. Social media is now an extension of the traditional brick and mortar shop window. It is your flyer, your advert or poster. In your shop, you wouldn't keep your specials that were on a flyer from 2017 or have the employee of the month from 2010. All that detail is updated.
3. Social media platforms like LinkedIn or Facebook have the biggest search engine reach. Having all your links, categories, keywords updated, will get your business noticed.
Just by entering my #4u2jumpstart my business details come up - whilst it cost me time to get the content written, it didn't cost me to advertise.
To constantly and consistently create content is difficult. The secret that I use is a content calendar. Allocate time once a week/month create the theme. Write the blog and schedule those posts - have at least one update a month.
Every business needs a "Proof of Life" strategy. 4u2jumpstart this process connect with me to end the procrastination and show the world you are alive.
