Nothing you do should go to waste!

Reducing waste can actually be applied to our Social Media Strategies. Posting, for posting sake, serves no purpose. The three principles to consider are: Waste Reduction, Sustainable and repurposed.

Waste Reduction

With advent of AI it has become incredibly easy to get content posted. Don't be that person who creates for creating sake. Reduce waste by posting relevant content. Content that people actually want to read, view or contribute to.

It is tempting to go to AI and prompt for an article - but remember people want to hear from You - the expert.

Sustainability

  • Consistent Posting: Don't burn yourself out with an unsustainable posting schedule. Find a pace that works for you and your audience.

  • Find a Friend: You dont need to go it alone - join a group that works with you in terms of punting, commenting and giving guidance.

  • Long-Term Vision: Have a roadmap for where you want to go with your social media accounts. This will help you sustain your efforts over the long term.

Repurpose

Single use is not necessary.

  • Reusable Content: Consider ways to repurpose content for different platforms or formats. For example, a video interview could be turned into a blog post, a series of quotes, and social media snippets.

  • Data-Driven Decisions: Use analytics to track the performance of your posts. This helps you understand what's resonating with your audience and what's not, allowing you to eliminate wasteful topics.

  • Mindful Interaction: Before commenting or sharing, think about the value of your action. Wasting time on negative or pointless interactions serves no one.

By applying these principles, you're more likely to create a social media strategy that's effective and respectful of both your time and your audience's attention.
